Update on Labor Rules and Regulations

Following a Ministerial Decree, labor rules and regulations in Saudi Arabia have recently been updated by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.

There have been some additions, and also amendments to some of the regulations. Also, changes to the list of violations and their applicable penalties include the re-instatement of penalties for the violation of article 38 of the labor law, where non-Saudi’s are employed in a different job than stated on their visa, and article 15 which specifies a fine of 10,000 SR if the establishment does not have an account at the Labor Office or does not update its information.Various other amendments are elaborated in a document issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
